I'm pretty sure most of the badminton mania/enthusiasts are well aware of the Dubai Superseries that is playing now. The round robins have already ended and we have the semi-finalists for all events. Congratulations to all semi-finalists for well-fought games. Here is the list of semi-finalists for each of the 5 events:
Men's Singles
Shi Yuqi vs Viktor Axelsen
Son Wan Ho vs Lee Chong Wei
For those, who may not have known, these SF matches are a re-match from the round robins. Interestingly and co-incidentally, both Shi Yuqi and Son Wan Ho were trailing behind their opponents at one point of their matches (i.e., Shi Yuqi in the 3rd set and Son Wan Ho in the 2nd set). However, with their determination and never give up spirit, they caught up with their opponents and eventually win the match. Will they continue their winning streak in the SF match OR will Viktor and Chong Wei learn from their previous experiences and storm into the finals?
Not forgetting, a big shout out to Viktor for well-shown sportsmanship in his match against Chou Tien Chen, which should serve as a lesson for all of us to learn from. During their 3rd set, a controversial call was made and Chou lost a point due to the poorly made decision. To do Chou's justice, Viktor has decided to give the point back to Chou....well.. kinda.. here is the youtube video of the match. Fast forward to 1:04:00 to see the controversial call.
