We are honored to announce the details of the upcoming 2018 Minnesota Badminton Open. This year, the tournament will be hosted by the Minnesota Youth Badminton club, led by Zoe Chan. Minnesota Youth Badminton club is a newly founded club by Zoe Chan and is run by a group of passionate Minnesota youth players.
The 2018 Minnesota Badminton Open will be held on October 20th and 21st at the Burnsville High School gym. Registration is now open (click here to get to the registration form). Early Bird rate is offered until Sunday (October 7th).
Early Bird Rate:
$35 for the first event; $5 per additional event
Please note that early bird rate only applies when you register and pay before October 7th.
FINAL DEADLINE: Sunday October 14th REFUNDS only for events not held or unfullfilled partner request. Entries for doubles are considered ‘received’ upon receipt of BOTH partners’ entries.

*We will aim to complete all the matches at least through quarterfinals for Men's Singles and Men's Doubles. As for Women's Singles, we may aim to complete all the matches through semi-finals. Finally, for Women's Doubles and the Senior Doubles (Open Category), we will aim to complete both events before 6/6.30 p.m.

Format
Format of the tournament will be decided upon registration deadline.
We are happy to announce that we will continue to hold a Senior Doubles (Open Category) event in the tournament this year. All individuals, who are at least 50 years of age, are eligible to participate (additional $5 fee applies) in the event. The draws for all events will be posted and shared by October 19th. Please check out the draws and make sure that you check-in on time during the tournament days. Your punctuality is much appreciated to ensure a smooth run of the tournament. Thank you and hope to see you all on courts.
Note: This tournament is not sanctioned by the USA Badminton Association, therefore membership is NOT required to enter.
Miscellaneous
All matches will be played with feather shuttles. If both teams agree to play with nylon shuttles they may do so. Tournament coordinators will NOT supply any nylon shuttles.
Family and friends are welcome to attend and watch but MAY NOT play badminton whether for fun or otherwise due to liability during the course of the two day tournament.
